EXCURSION TO SARISKA; CLASS IX (FEBRUARY 28 TO MARCH 01, 2019)

The students of class IX went to Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary on February 28, 2019 for a two days trip.

The two day road trip undertaken by a group of 47 students accompanied by 6 teachers, headed for the safari rides, stopping for breakfast and lunch en route. The jungle safari allowed them tantalizing glimpses of the Sambhar, the Cheetal and the Nilgai , the native animals of this region.  The safari also helped the youngsters to see at close quarters the varied hues of the national bird, the peacock along with peahens, wild boars and wild hares. The safari guide helped them to identify the local vegetation, namely the bitter saopnut tree, the ficus etc.  Monkeys were found in abundance and the teenagers were entranced by their tricks and mischievous antics.  The most thrilling moment was when the three canters were stopped suddenly on hearing a warning cry from the monkeys – signalling the presence of the big cat somewhere in close vicinity, making the grazing deer tense and the wild hares to scurry away. A visit was made to a local temple near the sanctuary to seek the blessings of Hanumanji, the presiding deity. After the safari, the students checked into their rooms in Hotel Grand Hira and enjoyed the Evening with delicious snacks with DJ music followed by lavish dinner.

The next day, students visited Parle Biscuit factory  situated in Behror where they enhanced their knowledge about the advent of the Parle industry, received information about the founder, its network of branches in India and took a tour of the factory premises.  The spokesperson for the factory, Ms, Shikha Sharma, explained each of the processes involved in packaging, sealing and retail selling in detail and handled the queries of the children.

The children were happy with the delightful interlude arranged by the school immediately after their final examinations drew to a close.
