Snowflakes are frail by themselves……….. but when they come together, they can stop traffic.”

This saying best amplifies the power of the Goenkan team – a close-knit team comprising of the child, parents, teachers and the school community. GDGPS acknowledges the pivotal and collaborative role played by the parents and teachers in determining a student’s academic journey and moulding them into leaders of tomorrow. Therefore, through its special initiatives like Parents Orientation Programme, the school endeavors to strengthen the connection between these 2 indispensable factors in a student’s life - the school and the parents.

One such Orientation Programme was organized for the parents of new admissions to Grades III-XII which began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp ceremony. The programme was graced by the senior members of the management, Mrs and Mr. TR Garg, Mr. S. Sachdev and the school principal, Ms. Anuradha Handa. In her address to the gathering, the principal firstly expressed her appreciation of the parents’ keenness to know more about their child’s school’s functioning and processes and at the same time, lauded the guiding and benevolent role of the school’s dynamic Chairman, Mr. Vipul Garg and other senior members of the management. Quoting Walt Whitman’s famous words, “Produce great persons, the rest follows”, Ms. Handa emphasized the role of good education in producing able citizens and capable leaders of the future. Ms. Handa revealed how the school philosophy stresses conceptual clarity and strong fundamentals and also shared that the 100 sections strong school runs its academic curriculum that is a judicious blend of traditional and experiential methodology.

Ms. Shalini Tandon, the Middle Wing Incharge provided insight into the school curriculum for Grades III-XII. She outlined the core vision and functioning of the inventive initiatives conceptualized by the school principal for bringing about student enrichment and empowerment such as Veative, SPE (Support/Practice/Enrichment Programme) IDM, ICLP, STEM, CLASS, COEP etc. Ms. Tandon also threw light on the key components in the co-scholastic spheres, the house system, the club activities, in-house and inter-school competitions, value education etc.

The Academic Coordinator, Ms. Ritesh, Senior Secondary and Secondary School Coordinators, Dr Shunil Tripathi and Ms. Sarika Singh respetively along with the Middle and Senior Wing teachers were introduced by their names to the parents. Thereafter, the parents were escorted to the respective classrooms for class-specific presentations where they were comprehensively acquainted with the important school guidelines and instructions for the first day.
