ASSEMBLY- LEADERS IN ACTION

“A strong leader is like a shepherd, he stays behind the flock , letting the most nimble to go out ahead, whereupon the others follow not realizing that all along their way they have been directed from behind.”

Being a leader doesn’t simply mean holding a powerful or dominant position, the measure of an inspiring leader has less to do with the authority and more about the impact they create. An able leader has the confidence to stand alone and take tough decisions to life, he/she has to have the compassion to listen and understand hi/her followers. And at all times, be of unimpeachable integrity. To motivate the Goenkans to look up to such leaders and emulate their example, the students of Class VIII presented a power-packed assembly on the topic- ‘Leaders in Action’.

A day without prayer is akin to a day without blessings;  so to seek the blessings of the Lord Almighty, the assembly began with a soulful prayer followed by inspirational thoughts in English and Hindi. The Goenkan reporters updated the online audience about the latest world events and school snippets. Ms. Shalini Tandon, the Middle Wing Head Mistress spoke inspirational words on this occasion.

It’s indeed true that leaders become great not because of their power but because of their ability to empower others. This proverbial truth was well amplified through a gripping online live streaming assembly. In it,  the children of class VIII paid a tribute to powerful leaders like-Ajit Doval, Narinder Kapany and Major General Lan Cardozo. A captivating skit explaining the importance of values in the life of a leader and a mesmerizing dance performance created online magic. .

The assembly drew to its rightful closure when the school Principal, a visionary leader par excellence graced this assembly with her presence. Ms. Anuradha Handa appreciated the efforts of all the participants and motivated everyone to lead through their thoughts, words and actions.
